Our School provides a wealth of opportunities for K-12 educators to enhance their knowledge of China and skills of teaching Chinese language and culture. We take an interdisciplinary approach consistent with national and state-mandated standards in order to help educators incorporate the teaching of China into all subjects and grade levels, including Chinese language learning, humanities, social studies, and the arts.
Through programs including our flagship Teacher Certificate Program: Understanding Chinese Culture in Practice, launched in March 2023 with East China Normal University in Shanghai, China, and a variety of online and in-person seminars, workshops, conferences, fieldtrips and study tours for K-16 educators, China Institute provides continuing education for educators and supports a strong community.
China Institute is a sponsor of Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) hours approved by the New York State Education Department.
