Sarah Guo is an inspiring entrepreneur and venture capitalist from Silicon Valley. She is the founder of venture capital firm Conviction and a board partner at Greylock, where she was the youngest General Partner in history. Before joining Greylock, she worked at Goldman Sachs in banking and growth investing, where she advised clients including Dropbox, Netflix, Nvidia, Workday, and Zynga.
Sarah earned four degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and The Wharton School in five years.
She invests in entrepreneurs building important companies across AI, business applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity and fintech. Sarah is interested in technology companies that improve the way we work, create and collaborate. Her mission is to back extraordinary teams with purpose and velocity, and be their best business partner. She works closely with startups on whatever moves the needle to help them achieve and expand their ambitions, without losing their souls. She is highly respected in the venture capital community for her insights and expertise, and is known for her ability to identify and nurture promising companies.
She is also a philanthropist, writer, podcast host, and advisor to policymakers in the fields of security and AI. Sarah is a highly visible figure in the media, often appearing in The New York Times, and on Bloomberg on CNBC. In 2016, Sarah made the Forbes 30-Under-30 list in Venture Capital. Sarah is a strong advocate for diversity in venture capital and tech, and has been a mentor to female founders and investors.
Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, Sarah’s parents Jerry Guo and Lucy Xie, both brilliant engineers, launched Casa Systems in 2003 and took it public in 2017. Casa Systems is a pioneering technology company that provides software and hardware solutions for broadband and next-generation networks.
Sarah is not only a powerhouse in business but also a devoted mother of two adorable daughters. Her husband Pat Grady is also a venture capitalist, a General Partner at Sequoia Capital and co-head of their growth practice.
