China Institute Lunch and Learn journey is continuing now!

Join us virtually to read aloud Chinese poetry, learn about Chinese culture, and gain insight into Chinese life through Chinese art, literature, and history. Participants will enjoy live, interactive learning sessions with our language and cultural experts from home.

We are featuring Traditional Chinese folk festivals in Fall 2024!

Traditional Chinese folk festivals, held annual, offer a valuable lesson through their consistent presence on the calendar. These festivals highlight the harmony between nature, society, and humanity, vividly reflecting the core values of Chinese culture. Understanding these festivals provides a meaningful pathway to understanding the essence of the Chinese people and their cultural heritage.

Through a selection of folklore prints related to these festivals, Professor Mingjie Li will guide the audience to delve into four major traditional Chinese folk festivals: the Mid-Autumn Festival中秋节, the Qingming Festival清明节, the Dragon Boat Festival端午节, and the Spring Festival春节. Discussions will cover the customs and traditions associated with each festival, as well as the unique foods enjoyed during these celebrations.

Join us virtually to learn Chinese culture and art and enjoy live sessions with our Chinese folklore expert from home!
