The World of Flower-and-Bird Painting - International Symposium
This video documents the 8th Annual Orchid Pavilion Gathering with the theme of “Calligraphy Power.” Three master calligraphers’ works were introduced by the artists and collector, with a special introduction of the Dingwu edition Yousi collected Preface to the Poems Collected at the Orchid Pavillion, an ink rubbing made during the Song Dynasty. Each speaker shared their personal connection with this supreme art form, calligraphy. Willow Weilan Hai, Senior Vice President of China Institute in America, and Director and Chief Curator of China Institute Gallery, hosted the discussion.

Chinese Flower and Bird Painting with Photography
This 15-minute video compares traditional Chinese flower-and-bird painting with contemporary photography, tracing nature’s creations and their inspiration for this major genre of Chinese painting, which entwines creative brush work with poetry.
