钱穆（1895—1990），字宾四，江苏无锡人，中国现代著名历史学家、教育家，享誉中外的国学大师。钱穆是从中国乡村中崛起来的学问家，他一生从未上过大学，接受现代意义的正规学术训练；更没有出国留学，沐浴西方文化的雨露，完全靠自学苦读成就了一番学术事业，由乡村小学教师、中学教师而走向大学讲台,成为大学教授、名教授，成为一代学术大师。钱穆治学出入经、史、子、集四部，著述达千万言以上，是20世纪中国国学界的一位通儒，有“一代儒宗”、“最后一位国学大师”之誉。钱穆毕生以阐释和弘扬中国文化为己任，他学问的宗主和人生的终极关怀就是关心中国文化的传承，也就是在西方文化的强烈震荡、冲击下，中国传统文化究竟何去何从的问题。他一再告诫国人：“你是中国人，不要忘了中国，不要一笔抹杀自己民族的历史与文化”；他也从不掩饰他一生教授学生的目的就是要为中国文化招魂，为中国文化招义勇兵。其毕生的著述、讲学之宗旨，刻刻不离于对国家前途与民族文化之关怀。他对中华民族得以自立的文化生命和精神元气大加阐扬和维护，始终对中国文化传统的内在生命力抱有坚定的信心。
华美人文学会将于美东时间3月30日晚8时至9时半（北京时间3月31日早8时至9时半特邀钱穆研究专家、《钱穆传》作者陈勇教授做《文化神州系一身：钱穆的人生历程与精神志业》专题讲座，介绍钱穆的生平和学术贡献。讲座通过对钱穆人生经历和学思历程的叙述，旨在展现这位来自乡村，完全靠自学成才，成为大学教授、名教授，成为一代国学大师的立体人生和学术贡献，另一方面突出他为中国文化而战、为守卫中国文化而战的一生，突出他为中国文化招魂续命的精神志业，激励人们为民族复兴和中国文化承担责任。

Professor Chen Yong is a distinguished scholar, having obtained his Ph.D. in History from East China Normal University in 1995. With a prolific academic career spanning over decades, he has held teaching positions at various esteemed institutions, including Sichuan Normal University and Shanghai University. Currently, he serves as a professor and doctoral supervisor at Shanghai Normal University's School of Humanities and as a distinguished professor at Shaanxi University of Science and Technology. Professor Chen's research focuses on the history of the Sui and Tang dynasties, modern Chinese historiography, and the intellectual history of the Republic of China era. He is the author of numerous acclaimed works, including "Qian Mu: A Biography" and "Qian Mu and 20th Century Chinese Historiography," and has published over a hundred articles in prestigious academic journals. His scholarly contributions have earned him various awards, including the National Outstanding Youth Social Science Achievement Award and the Outstanding Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences from Shanghai Municipality.
主讲人陈勇，1995年毕业于华东师范大学中国史学研究所，获历史学博士学位。曾任教于四川师范学院历史系、上海大学文学院，现为上海师范大学人文学院教授、博士生导师，陕西理工大学汉江学者特聘教授。兼任中国史学会史学理论研究会常务理事、上海历史学会理事、上海市儒学研究会理事。主要从事隋唐史、中国近现代史学史、民国学术史研究，出版有《钱穆传》（人民出版社2001年、上海人民出版社2019年修订本）、《唐代长江下游经济发展研究》（上海人民出版社2006年）、《国学宗师钱穆》（北京大学出版社2007年）、《钱穆与20世纪中国史学》（九州出版社2017年）等著作，主编《国史纲要》《民国史家与史学》《中国传统学术的近代转型》《钱穆先生佚文集》等书，在《历史研究》《中国史研究》《史学理论研究》《史学史研究》等刊物上发表论文100多篇。近年来主持和完成国家社科基金项目、教育部人文社科基金项目、上海市哲学社会科学规划项目多项。曾获第二届全国青年优秀社会科学成果奖、上海市第十一届哲学社会科学优秀成果奖、四川省第七次哲学社会科学优秀成果奖等奖项。
