The 21st New York International Conference on Teaching Chinese: A New Chapter in Teaching Chinese

为进一步推广中文在美国的教学、促进中美中文教学界交流,大纽约地区中文教师学会(CLTA-GNY)和华美协进社 (China Institute)于2023年5月6日联合举办第21届纽约国际汉语教学研讨会, 总结汉语教学经验,传播先进理念,交流现代教学手段,提高海外汉语教学的总体水平。会议将在位于纽约曼哈顿下城的华美协进社举办。

本次会议的主题是 “A New Chapter in Teaching Chinese”,内容涵括汉语教学法与实践,面对海外新需要的文化对策,以及教材与课型设计,教学的比较和体会。

欢迎中美专家参会发言,介绍自己的研究成果和教学心得。研讨会的议题包括:教学法、课程设计、电脑中文教学、偏误分析、汉字教学、师资培训、新媒体技术在中文教学中的运用。

报名发言
发言可以用中文和英文进行。会务委员会将根据议题分组,每组有4位发言人,时长为75分钟。请注意,每篇发言都需要提交独立的摘要。

网上报名发言截止日期为2023年3月15日,录取通知将于3月中发至申请人信箱。

The 21st New York International Conference on Teaching Chinese, sponsored by the Chinese Language Teachers Association of Greater New York (CLTA-GNY) and China Institute will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at China Institute in New York City, located at 40 Rector Street, New York, NY 10006.

We invite you to submit a proposal for our conference! All proposals on the teaching of Chinese are welcome, including but not limited to following of interest:

RESEARCH: This area includes linguistics, culture, pedagogy, program implementation, assessments, etc.

PRACTICES: This area includes student motivation, administration, program promotion, teaching materials, classroom instructional strategies, ACTFL 5 Cs standards application, teacher training, community engagement, etc.

INNOVATIONS: This area includes technology and media use, online and distance learning, application of recent research on brain and learning theories, etc.

Call for Proposal
The Conference Committee welcomes submissions of proposals on subjects relevant to the above themes. Papers can be either in Chinese or English. We will consider proposals for panels as well as individual papers and all proposals will be reviewed anonymously. Individual papers will be grouped into panels by themes. Panels will be 75 minutes long with four presenters. Please note that we will need separate abstracts for each paper on any panel proposal.

Please submit your proposals online by March 15, 2023. Notice of acceptance will be sent out in mid-March electronically.

The Chinese Language Teachers Association of Greater New York (CLTA-GNY):
a nonpolitical, nonprofit academic and educational organization for Chinese language teachers at all education levels. The mission of the CLTA-GNY is to promote quality Chinese Language teaching at all education levels in the greater New York area and to conduct professional development for Chinese teachers in both language teaching and cultural awareness. It serves as a resource network for Chinese language teachers to partake teaching and research information in various capacities, as well as provide a base for common pedagogical improvement and individual career development. Members of the CLTA-GNY benefit greatly from a broad agenda offered by the Association, including conferences, seminars, workshops, fieldtrips, and in-service training and/or re-training for the teachers in demand. Additionally there are newsletters and other professional or recreational correspondence communicated periodically through mail or email to our members.
