“Shan Shui Reboot”: Re-envision Chinese Art in Your Classroom

April 5, 2024
5:30 - 7:30 PM EDT
China Institute in America
in collaboration with
New York University Project Developing Chinese Language Teachers (DCLT)

Join us for a professional development program tailored for K-12 educators, coinciding with the opening of China Institute Gallery’s new exhibition,  Shan Shui Reboot: Re-envisioning Landscape for a Changing World. This exhibition offers a fresh perspective on Chinese art for the twenty-first century.

Participants will engage in a variety of enriching activities, including a docent-led tour, a hands-on workshop focusing on ink tree painting, and guided discussions with Dr. Robin Harvey. This event provides a unique opportunity for educators to network with peers while exploring connections to Chinese language and culture teaching in K-12 classrooms.

For questions, please contact Yongqiang Lin at ylin@chinainstitute.org

Program Schedule:

5:00 – 5:30 PM Registration opens; self-exploration of the gallery exhibition
5:30 – 5:45 PM Opening remarks; introduction
5:45 – 7:00 PM Guided gallery tour and hands-on workshop
7:00 – 7:30 PM Guided discussion and closing
