Yue-Sai Kan

Co-Chair
Yue-Sai Kan, Emmy-Winning television personality, successful entrepreneur, humanitarian and fashion icon, is also a bestselling author of 10 books. In 1972, she pioneered the series "Looking East," introducing Asian cultures to Americans, followed by the groundbreaking "One World" series in China that opened the eyes of a billion Chinese to the outside world. Her Yue-Sai Cosmetics was China's leading cosmetics company now bought by L’Oreal. A cultural influencer, Yue-Sai is the first living American on a Chinese postage stamp. She is actively engaged in many charities like C100, Ellis Island Honor Society and her own non-profit, Yue-Sai Kan One World Foundation that promotes respect and cultural inclusivity globally through various medias.

Kent M. Swig

Co-Chair
Kent M. Swig is an owner of several real estate operating companies as well as commercial and residential real estate properties throughout the United States. His holdings and titles include the following: President of SWIG EQUITIES, LLC, a real estate developer and investor based in New York City; Owner and Co-Chairman of BROWN HARRIS STEVENS, one of the largest privately held residential real estate service companies in America; President of HELMSLEY SPEAR, LLC, America’s oldest continuously operating real estate company focusing on commercial brokerage services; Owner and President of FALCON PACIFIC CONSTRUCTION; Chairman of DIGNITY GOLD, LLC, an established United States based digital security that is crafting a revolutionary approach by backing a security tocken, DIGau, with gold reserves, in excess of $300 Billion of precious metal, silver, platinum and rare earth elements; and Principal and Owner of THE SWIG COMPANY, a family owned business that owns and manages over 10 million square feet of office space throughout the United States. After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese History from Brown University, Providence, R.I., Mr. Swig attended Hastings College of Law, San Francisco, where he was selected for the Law Review.

Before this, Anla founded Centenium Capital - Asian hedge fund of fund. Anla started at Goldman Sachs, Citi as Asia PM, and at Robert Fleming /JPMorgan where she was Head, Institutional Asia desk.
 
She is Trustee of the following Boards: TNC (The Nature Conservancy, Vice Chair); China Institute, Vice Chair. Cheng is Member of the Facing History (Former Chair of the China Project); Global Council Member, Brookings; Committee 100 (former Trustee and current member), a member of NCUSCR and Columbia University Global Council. Her past Board affiliations include: Trustee of MOCA; Riverdale Country School, NY Community Trust and The Browning School.

Robert Nederlander, Jr.

Secretary
Robert Nederlander, Jr. is President and CEO of Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment, part of the Nederlander family of companies which has been in the live entertainment business for over 112 years. Founded in 2000, NWE focuses on expanding the Broadway and Nederlander entertainment brands into new and emerging markets globally. Since 2005, he has toured seven Broadway shows through China, presented Soul of Shaolin, the first Chinese show to perform on Broadway, and is a founder of The China Cultural Trade & Industry Exchange Program. In addition, Mr. Nederlander produces original Chinese shows and Chinese language adaptations, including Sound of the Silk Road, which premiered in Xi’an in July 2021 and a Mandarin version of Fame: The Musical in partnership with the Beijing Central Academy of Drama. In 2018, NWE established the Graduate Certificate in Commercial Theater Development in partnership with Boston University Metropolitan College.

Kathy Bloomgarden

Dr. Kathy Bloomgarden is CEO of Ruder Finn Inc., one of the world's largest independent public relations and creative agencies. Kathy is known for helping CEOs garner recognition for authentic, visionary leadership, and for her work with companies from major multinationals to promising startups, to help them articulate and gain recognition for their brands. Kathy is a Board member of the China Institute, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the World Economic Forum, the PR Seminar, and the Partnership for New York City.

Edward S. Hyman

Ed Hyman is Chairman of Evercore ISI and Vice Chairman of Evercore. He heads Evercore ISI’s Economic Research Team. For the past 48 years Ed has been ranked by the Institutional Investor poll of investors for Economics, and ranked # 1 for 43 years.
Ed is a board member of China Institute. He also serves on the Finance Committee of Bowdoin College and is a member of the Economic Club of New York.
He earned a BS in Engineering from the University of Texas in 1967 and received his MBA from MIT in 1969. Ed is a UT Distinguished Alumnus recipient.

Ruth Jin, Esq.

Ruth Jin is the Leader of the Private Investment Funds practice at Moses & Singer LLP, a trustee at Georgetown University Law Center Alumni Board, and an Executive Committee Member of C-Sweet. As a corporate and securities law attorney, she represents clients ranging from entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 companies and advises them through all stages of growth, from start-up to IPO. Her expertise includes fund formation, mergers and acquisitions and public offerings, and legal issues in cross-border transactions. She has law degrees from Georgetown University, the University of Tokyo and Peking University, and is fluent in Chinese, Korean and Japanese.

Michael H. Krupa

Michael H. Krupa currently serves as Senior Advisor to Gemdale USA Corporation, a unit of Gemdale Corporation, one of Asia's largest and leading real estate companies where he brought a wealth of real estate investment, business development and operations experience to the Company as President for eight years.
 
Prior to joining Gemdale in February 2013, Mr. Krupa served as Managing Director at The Milestone Group from March 2009 to February 2013, where he also served on Milestone's Investment Committee. From 2001 to 2009 he was an Executive Director in two divisions within UBS, including the UBS Investment Bank Real Estate, Lodging & Leisure Group, as part of the group’s Real Estate Private Equity Fundraising team, and at UBS Global Asset Management Real Estate, one of the largest global real estate fund managers. Mr. Krupa was instrumental in the creation and growth and later served on the Board of Directors of Mitsubishi Corp.-UBS Realty Inc. (‘MCUBSR’), the externally advised asset manager to two Tokyo Stock Exchange listed J-REITs, Japan Retail Fund as well as Industrial and Infrastructure Fund. MCUBSR was recently acquired for $2 billion by KKR. Prior to UBS, Mr. Krupa also served in various real estate investment banking capacities at Salomon Smith Barney and one of its predecessors, Salomon Brothers, Inc., as well as at Kidder, Peabody and Company (now part of UBS).
 
He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Harvard Real Estate Alumni Board and First Workings and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the National Multi-Housing Council and AFIRE.
 
Mr. Krupa has served as Adjunct Professor of International Real Estate at NYU, Fordham and City University of New York and received his BS from Northeastern University and his MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a CPA.

Kai-yan Lee

Mr. Kai-yan Lee is the Regional CEO of JD Property, overseeing its business in Europe, Americas, and the Middle East. With about 300 million square feet of assets in its portfolio, JD Property is one of the largest global owners and developers in logistic and industrial real estate. It’s the subsidiary of the Global Fortune 100 company, JD.com. Kai brings more than two decades of real estate, investment, and financial market experiences across asset types, geographies, and risk profiles. Prior to joining JD Property, Kai spent a decade building and running the US subsidiary for Vanke, a Global Fortune 500 company, from its inception and grew it to US$ 6+ billion AUM. Earlier in his career, Kai also worked at the World Economic Forum and the Federal Reserve System. Kai obtained his masters degrees from Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and his bachelor degree with highest honor from University of California, Berkeley. Kai enjoys long distance running and has run at least one half-marathon in all 50 states in the US.

Vivian Long

Vivian is the Executive Director for the Long Family Foundation, an intergenerational, private nonprofit organization that funds religious, educational, cultural, and research endeavors. On behalf of the family, Vivian works closely with values-aligned nonprofit leaders through building trusted relationships and investing in organizational health.
 
Vivian co-chairs the Board of Asian American Futures, a national nonprofit focused on activating the power of Gen Z and Millennial AAPIs through high-impact philanthropy, narrative change, and movement building. She additionally serves on the China Institute and Every Mother’s Advocate board and is a member of the Generosity Commission’s Faith and Giving Task Force. She received both her BA and MPA from New York University.

Mr. Pin Ni is the President of Wanxiang America Corporation.
 
Mr. Ni has been serving as president of Wanxiang America Corporation since he established the business in 1994. The company’s revenue has grown from zero to $ 4 billion, crossing the areas of automotive, clean energy, and venture investment with operations in 23 states in the USA.
 
Mr. Ni is also very active in community service. He serves as vice chair of China General Chamber of Commerce – USA (CGCC-USA) and chairman of CGCC-USA Chicago, board director of World Business Chicago, board member of Chicago Council on Global Affairs, and a member of the Northwestern University Board of Trustees.

Julie Grimes Waldorf is based in NYC, serves as Chief Legal Officer and Director of Business Development at Carbonbase headquartered in Hong Kong and was Corporate Counsel for Ford Models, General Counsel of The Vitamin Shoppe and a corporate attorney at Pillsbury Winthrop. After Harvard Law School she clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and previously worked for the U.S. Trade Representative and The Atlantic Council. Julie has been a China Institute Trustee since 2010 and was a Truman Scholar, Council on Foreign Relations Term Member and Ole Miss Women’s Council for Philanthropy founding member.
