China Institute in America’s We All Live in the Forbidden City program offers a series of standards-based, interactive programs that introduce K-12 students to Chinese history and culture.
Our School provides a wealth of opportunities for K-12 educators to enhance their knowledge of China and skills of teaching Chinese language and culture. We take an interdisciplinary approach consistent with national and state-mandated standards in order to help educators incorporate the teaching of China into all subjects and grade levels, including Chinese language learning, humanities, social studies, and the arts.
China Institute in America offers a variety of print and online resources that educators can use to enhance their teaching of China in the classroom, including the award-winning We All Live in the Forbidden City books, our award-winning curriculum guide From Silk to Oil: Cross Cultural Connections Along the Silk Roads, and additional lesson plans and classrooms resources
