龙城之金:
辽宁三燕文物选萃 337-436
Edited by Willow Weilan Hai
With contributions by Annette L. Juliano, Tian Likun, and Liu Ning
Accompanying the first major exhibition in the United States dedicated to the Three Yan states, this limited-edition catalogue is the only bilingual volume that investigates the culture of the nomadic Murong Xianbei people, who dominated northern China more than 1,600 years ago.
Over one hundred exhibited objects excavated from Dragon City (longcheng, present-day Chaoyang in Liaoning Province), the capital of the Three Yan states, are introduced in the catalogue under four sections: diversified culture, mural painting, gold art, and question art. Featuring the golden buyao, this exhibition revives the faded history of ethnic integration and cultural exchange along the Steppe-Silk Road.
