
Phoebe Chen Huang
Chair of the Roundtable of Southern California Chinese American Organizations
Very few Chinese Americans are as greatly loved and respected by the Chinese communities of California as Mrs. Phoebe Chen Huang. Her extreme generosity and broad and effective outreach have proven crucially helpful to many. As a friend and leader, her passionate dedication to the arts and culture has had a lasting impact in Southern California. Phoebe’s active involvement includes the following roles:
- Member, Board of Directors of Culture Promotion Commission of China;
- Member, Overseas Committee of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, 2014-present;
- Chairperson, Board of Directors, The Roundtable of Southern California Chinese American Organizations 2020-2022;
- President, U.S.-Sichuan Chamber of Commerce, 2013–Present;
- Global Ambassador, Berklee College of Music
Phoebe has a Bachelor of Arts degree from China Central TV University and has studied at Pasadena City College and UCLA.
In December 2022, she served as the executive producer for the Chinese elements of the 90th Hollywood Christmas Parade, one of the three largest annual parades in the U.S. Phoebe’s work ensured that the parade featured 180 performers on Hollywood Boulevard helping to raise the profile of the Chinese communities across the United States.
In January 2022, Phoebe hosted the local Chinese New Year Festival & Winter Olympics celebration at the San Gabriel Theater, joining over 1,500 attendees from 175 Chinese community organizations all across Southern California.
Phoebe is a music lover with a sweet voice who often breaks into song at her events. Her talented son, Max Chen, inherited his mom’s love of music. He is a well-known DJ, songwriter and composer.
