Food & Wine Club Artist Talk and Musical Performance with Stone Chun Shi

Stone Chun Shi （石村）is a contemporary artist and musician who relocated to New York in 1987. Since 1989, he has exhibited his work at prominent contemporary art venues like the Alternative Museum, the Clock Tower, the White Column in New York, and galleries in Germany and Scotland. His abstract creation, “An Old Love Story,” is part of the permanent collection at Germany’s Grimm Museum.

In 1994, Stone gained considerable recognition by starring in the “New New Mankind: Kai Xi Oolong Tea” commercial series, which earned the Asia-Pacific Advertising Award. He also emerged as a rock star with the release of his album “A Man on Rock Street.” The same year, he held solo exhibitions at renowned Taiwanese contemporary art galleries like Apu Gallery and Yitong Gallery, receiving extensive coverage from major Taiwanese media, including People Magazine, Crown Magazine, China Times, and Art Collection Magazine.

By 1995, Stone’s versatile talents led him to become a VJ for MTV Asia, capturing the attention of mainstream American media outlets such as LA Times and Entertainment Tonight.

In 2010, Stone innovatively launched the RMB series, employing his distinctive “Stonecube” artistic language, which marked a new phase in his artistic journey.

Since 2015, Stone’s artworks have been featured in various media platforms, including Sinovision （美國中文電視), the China Press (僑報), CCTV, and renowned Collecting magazine （收藏). His artwork “Lotus Buddha” was auctioned for 920,000 RMB at the 2018 Beijing Poly Auction. The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China in New York commissioned and permanently collected his piece “Along the Riverside During Qing Ming Festival”. The Collecting magazine has twice selected Stone’s works for its cover.

Stone’s artworks are represented by the Jason McCoy Gallery in New York, a prestigious gallery with a 42-year legacy.
